Director General for Digital Space Supervision at the ministry, Alexander Sabar, said the decision is part of an effort to enforce existing regulations to ensure all electronic-system providers comply with registration requirements as well as ensure protection for digital-service users in Indonesia. Zangi, which is owned and developed by Silicon Valley based Secret Phone, Inc. is a private messaging app that emphasizes user privacy through features such as anonymous registration, military-grade encryption and local data storage.
