Yelp's US tying claim against Google survives motion to dismiss

( October 22, 2025, 22:51 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A US judge denied Google's motion to dismiss Yelp's tying claim in the companies' antitrust dispute. US Magistrate Judge Susan van Keulen previously found that Yelp’s allegations of unlawful tying of local search services to general search services were time-barred but had given it leave to amend. After Yelp filed an amended complaint, the judge has now found that "Yelp has plausibly alleged express coercion via Google’s [Terms of Service], Yelp has shown tolling of its tying claim to October 20, 2020 based on the Government’s suit in U.S. v. Google and Yelp has alleged a continuing violation via certain, specific algorithm and [search engine results page] changes" that Google undertook.See attached order....
