Google says Australian antitrust laws capable of regulating digital platforms

During a conference in Hong Kong, Christopher Kew, Asia-Pacific competition counsel for Google, said that cases have been brought against a range of digital platforms securing “specific targeted remedies to address specific concerns that have been established by the court.” Recent global experiences, particularly in the US, show that "traditional" antitrust laws across jurisdictions, including in Australia, are capable of regulating digital platforms, said a Google official, warning that sweeping ex ante regulations risk doing more harm than good....
