Live Nation opposes class certification in US monopolization case
( October 20, 2025, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Live Nation told a US federal judge that plaintiffs bringing monopolization claims cannot show a proper class because their motion for certification presents an “industry-wide sea of variation.” The company opposed certification in a case over the primary and secondary markets for ticket sales. “Plaintiffs assume the very thing they are required to prove to certify a class: that the court can adjudicate their antitrust claims without individualized inquiries into the ticketing dynamics for tens of thousands of live concerts held at 1,300+ diverse venues across the country, each of which negotiated a unique ticketing contract,” it said.See attached file. ...
