In a speech to the Real Estate Institute of Queensland Conference, Brendan Thomas said his agency had seen many examples of professional advisers and real-estate agents being used to help launder money. Changes to the law were designed to “close these gaps and, in the process, protect your business and staff from being misused in this way,” said Thomas, the CEO of the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre.
