Accountants, lawyers should consult guidance on 2026 AML changes: Australian watchdog

( October 17, 2025, 04:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Real-estate agents, lawyers and accountants who will be covered by Australia’s anti-money laundering laws for the first time from March 31, 2026, should consult new, detailed guidance, the country’s financial-crime watchdog has said. In a statement accompanying the guidance, the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre said the information was designed to help incoming reporting businesses understand and implement their new obligations, while also providing existing reporting entities information on what will change.
