UK collective action review mustn't cut scope of regime, law firm says

( October 14, 2025, 17:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK government's review of the country's collective action regime through a call for evidence must not lead to a weakening of the scope of the regime, according to law firm Mishcon de Reya. "Any proposals to limit the scope of the regime are premature because it is too soon to ask whether the regime is fulfilling its policy goals," the firm said. The firm also said the regime highlights the "crucial role" of private enforcement given a "shortfall" of cases sourced from UK competition regulator decisions. The government has said it is the "right time" to review the regime's operation and impact.Statement attached....
