EE, O2, VodafoneThree to pay combined £39m for mmWave spectrum in the UK

( October 16, 2025, 08:49 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: UK telecom operators EE, O2 and VodafoneThree have agreed to pay a combined £39m to secure more airwaves at Ofcom’s latest spectrum auction, the UK regulator said Thursday. Each company won 800 MHz of spectrum in the 26 GHz band and 1 GHz of spectrum in the 40 GHz band. This spectrum, known as mmWave, is used for improving capacity in busy areas. Operators will be able to deploy it in 68 towns and cities across the UK to ultimately provide better, faster 5G services, Ofcom said. Statement follows....
