Implement EU renewable directive or face court action, lobby group says

( October 13, 2025, 11:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: EU member states should urgently implement the EU Renewable Energy Directive and overcome “administrative inertia,” a lobby group said on Monday. The European Renewable Energies Federation welcomed the European Commission’s legal action against Sweden for failing to incorporate EU rules supporting renewable deployment into national legislation. Delayed implementation undermines investor confidence and puts the energy transition and Europe’s competitiveness at risk, EREF said.
