Ask us to collect our data, Australian children tell tech companies in privacy survey
( October 13, 2025, 01:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Australian children want to be asked more often if their personal information can be collected and used, while also wanting to have a better understanding of why online players want their personal information in the first place, according to a new survey. In releasing the findings, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner said the survey also found that children wanted privacy policies to be short and simple to read, with the “important stuff clearly marked.” The survey was part of the privacy watchdog’s mandate to develop the Children’s Online Privacy Code, as part of the 2024 Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act.The survey findings are attached; the OAIC's Children's Online Privacy Code can be found here. ...
