EU framework for measuring buildings’ climate impact open for consultation
( October 6, 2025, 09:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission on Friday opened a public consultation on the establishment of an EU-wide framework for calculating the global warming potential of new buildings over their whole lifecycle, as required under the revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. The framework will ensure comparability of national global warming potential values, and will apply to large new buildings from 2028 and to all new buildings from 2030.
