Vietnam releases draft AI law for public comment

( October 6, 2025, 06:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology has released a draft law on artificial intelligence for public comment. The nine-chapter bill aims to promote AI research and ethical use while safeguarding public rights and national security. It applies to all AI activities in or affecting Vietnam and classifies AI systems by four risk levels — unacceptable, high, medium and low. High-risk systems will cover sectors such as education, transport, finance, recruitment, justice and energy. Public consultation runs until Oct. 20, when the National Assembly’s 10th session begins and the draft is scheduled for discussion.The draft law (in Vietnamese) is attached....
