Asahi Group confirms possible data theft in Japan ransomware attack

( October 3, 2025, 07:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Asahi Group Holdings said Friday that it found “traces suggesting a potential unauthorized transfer of data” in the Sept. 29 cyberattack, revising its earlier assessment that no data theft had been confirmed. It said an internal investigation found that the servers were exposed to a ransomware attack, and the affected systems, limited to Japan, have been isolated, halting external email communication as well as order and shipment processes. Call center operations are expected to be restored next week, but the company said it was unable to provide a timeline for full recovery.Statement follows (In English then Japanese)....
