Investigation into safeguard extension on Indonesian clothing imports halted

( October 1, 2025, 10:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Indonesian Trade Safeguard Committee, or KPPI, at the Trade Ministry said Wednesday it has halted its investigation into extending safeguard measures for imported clothing and clothing accessories. KPPI Chairwoman Julia Gustaria Silalahi said the probe found "insufficient evidence" to meet the requirements for extending the measures imposed in 2021. The KPPI launched the investigation on Nov. 7, 2024, following a request of the Indonesian Textile Association, covering 131 tariff lines and seven groups of clothing products from China, Bangladesh, Singapore, Vietnam, Turkey, Cambodia, India and Morocco.The full statement, in Indonesian, follows:...
