Image-sharing platform Imgur halts UK access as watchdog warns it plans fine

The move comes as the UK privacy regulator confirmed it has provisionally found the platform in breach of children’s privacy rules and intends to fine its parent company MediaLab. The Information Commissioner’s Office noted that its findings are provisional and that it will consider the firm’s representations before deciding whether to apply a fine. Image-sharing platform Imgur, which is under investigation by the UK privacy regulator for its processing of children’s data, no longer provides services in the UK from Tuesday. The website is popular with Reddit users for allowing them to host and share images and GIFs on the platform....
