EU countries divided over potential AI Act pause

Heavyweights including Germany, France and Italy remain noncommittal. The European Commission plans limited “quick fix” amendments in its Digital Omnibus and a broader review of the core legal principles with a Digital Fitness Check.EU member states split last week on whether the AI Act’s requirements for high-risk AI systems should be put on hold, with more governments leaning toward a pause and some heavyweights not taking a firm stance, as the European Commission prepares to decide soon....
