JFTC, Transport Ministry step up shipper oversight ahead of subcontracting-law reform

( September 26, 2025, 04:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Japan Fair Trade Commission and the Transport Ministry will jointly inspect shippers and logistics operators nationwide in October and November to promote compliance with Japan’s revised Subcontracting Optimization Act. The reforms, taking effect in January 2026, expand coverage to “specified transport subcontracting” and aim to ensure fair price pass-through across supply chains.
