Amazon agrees to $2.5 billion settlement in US FTC 'dark patterns' trial (updates*)

( September 25, 2025, 15:38 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Amazon has agreed to pay $2.5 billion to settle a lawsuit brought by the US Federal Trade Commission accusing it of violating the Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act by tricking millions of customers into signing up for its  Prime subscription service and making it difficult to cancel.
