Australia's digital-platform forum examines immersive technologies

( September 24, 2025, 02:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Immersive technologies may have the potential for extensive data collection including personal and sensitive information, Australia’s key digital regulators said. In a joint statement on Wednesday, the Digital Platforms Regulators Forum, known as DP-REG, said that it has published a working paper on immersive technologies including virtual reality and augmented reality technology. The paper focuses on “understanding, assessing and responding to the benefits, risks and harms” of this technology.
