Strengthen EU grid infrastructure planning, coordination, oversight, ACER urges

( September 19, 2025, 09:48 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Measures to strengthen and simplify EU electricity grid infrastructure planning should be included in the European Commission's upcoming Grids Package, energy regulator ACER has said. Electricity and gas system operators should also improve their coordination, it said in a statement on Friday. The agency suggested it could play a bigger role in overseeing key methodologies for scenario development and infrastructure planning at EU level.
