South Korea's KT files second breach report tied to unauthorized micro-charges

( September 18, 2025, 08:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korean telecom giant KT has filed a second personal-data breach notification tied to the unauthorized small-amount charges incident. The company reported to the Personal Information Protection Commission on Thursday that identifiers belonging to a cumulative 20,030 users, including IMSI, IMEI and mobile phone numbers from both KT and MVNO customers may have been exposed. This follows KT’s first filing on Sept. 11, which covered 5,561 users’ IMSI numbers. The regulator said it launched an investigation on Sept. 10 into the causes, scope of damage and compliance with privacy obligations, and it will take enforcement action if violations are found.The statement, in Korean, is attached....
