Thailand sees 20% increase in online complaints in first 8 months of 2025

( September 18, 2025, 09:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Thailand’s Electronic Transactions Development Agency reports that from January through August 2025, the ETDA online help center received 27,332 consumer complaints, up 20 percent from the same period in 2024. Problems with online purchases accounted for nearly 42 percent of calls, while complaints about illegal websites represented nearly 37 percent of calls. Of all complaints, 98 percent or 26,794 cases were resolved, the agency said. Under the Digital Platform Services law, the ETDA collaborates with digital platforms, regulators and police to close fraud loopholes, promote transparency and deliver faster relief to consumers.The ETDA's report, in Thai, follows....
