OpenAI, Nvidia and Nscale to launch AI compute project Stargate UK

( September 16, 2025, 21:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: OpenAI, Nvidia and the UK AI engineering company Nscale are jointly establishing Stargate UK, a large-scale AI infrastructure project including an initial 8,000 AI GPUs coming “early next year” with the potential to expand to 31,000, according to the UK technology ministry. The compute project will be housed in several sites including in a new AI Growth Zone that is being established in the northeast. Separate from Stargate UK, investment company Blackstone has committed 10 billion pounds ($13.7 billion) in the growth zone and the government foresees a further 20 billion pounds ($27.4 billion) in investment from others.Statement follows:...
