Seafood processing executive indicted in alleged price-fixing conspiracy

( September 11, 2025, 15:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Dennis Dopico, vice president at a Florida-headquartered company that runs a seafood processing center, has been indicted by the US Department of Justice over a conspiracy to fix prices of stone crab claws and spiny lobsters. In a filing to the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the DOJ said Dopico knowingly joined and participated in the conspiracy with four other individuals at different companies. He suppressed and eliminated competition by fixing the prices paid to fishermen from at least in or around July 2023 through at least in or around April 2025, the filing said.
