Meta sued in Germany over covert tracking, faces €3,000-per-user claim

SOMI accuses Meta of secretly surveilling Facebook and Instagram users through embedded Business Tools and clandestine Android tracking methods. The lawsuit alleges Meta harvested sensitive personal data without consent, in breach of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation, and seeks compensation of up to €3,000 ($3,500) per affected user.
