Mitsubishi Fuso's acquisition of Toyota's Hino Motors given green light in Australia

( September 11, 2025, 03:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japanese manufacturer Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation’s bid to acquire truck-manufacturer Hino Motors, a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation, has been cleared in Australia, following a public review by the country’s mergers watchdog. In an analysis accompanying the decision, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said the deal was unlikely to lessen competition in any of the four markets it had considered. In relation to the supply of heavy-duty trucks and light commercial vehicles market, the regulator found the merged company would be sufficiently constrained by alternative suppliers, post-merger.
