( September 10, 2025, 09:38 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japanese directory trader Chuo Business Service received a corrective recommendation on Wednesday from the Personal Information Protection Commission for violating Japan’s personal-information protection law. The PPC began investigating Chuo in August after receiving alerts from police that the company had accepted bank remittances from groups, despite knowing the groups were linked to fraudulent activities. The investigation revealed Chuo provided personal data from 490,000 individuals to one party and data from 110,000 individuals to another. As a result, the PPC found Chuo violated the personal-information protection law by inappropriately using personal information, and instructed the Tokyo-based company to submit corrective measures.The statement, in Japanese, is attached....
