Under the plan, Sumitomo will transfer its polypropylene and linear low-density polyethylene operations to Prime Polymer, a joint venture between Mitsui and Idemitsu that specializes in polyolefin production. Following the transfer, Prime Polymer’s ownership structure will shift from 65 percent Mitsui and 35 percent Idemitsu to 52 percent Mitsui, 28 percent Idemitsu, and 20 percent Sumitomo. The transaction is subject to regulatory clearances, competition law approvals, and other required authorizations, the companies said in a statement.The statement is attached....
