EU guidance on Digital Services Act ‘trusted flaggers’ has big questions to answer

The European Commission is drafting guidelines to address challenges that have emerged in the past year. They will need to answer some of the concerns and show how the model can work in practice.Online platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube operating in the EU are required to remove illegal content swiftly under the Digital Services Act — and the recently passed content moderation law engages the “trusted flagger” system to make that process more effective....
