Eurelectric and the International Hydropower Association, together with 14 hydropower representatives, signed a pledge to advocate for an EU initiative to scale up long-term electricity storage. Developing this technology would help to balance supply and demand, to stabilize markets and to cut Europe's dependence on fossil fuels, they said.
