Constellation, Calpine ask US FERC to deny requests for rehearing of merger case

( September 8, 2025, 21:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Electricity providers Constellation Energy and Calpine Corp. urged the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission not to reconsider the agency's recent approval of their merger, despite merger opponents' requests for a rehearing of that merger case. "The Commission did not abuse its discretion in issuing the Order based on the written record in this proceeding," the companies stated in their answer to recent filings by deal protesters. "The Commission has broad discretion in determining whether to hold an evidentiary hearing, and no hearing is required if the Commission can adequately resolve disputed issues on the written record."See attached document. ...
