Trump signs order to add, remove certain goods from 'reciprocal' US tariffs

( September 5, 2025, 16:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US President Donald Trump signed an executive order to add and remove certain goods that are subject to sweeping "reciprocal" tariffs imposed on most of the world. Removed from the duties are goods undergoing a national security review, such as critical minerals and pharmaceuticals, while added to the "reciprocal" tariff lists are products like aluminum hydroxide, resin and silicone items. The executive order also lays the groundwork to reduce tariffs for specific countries that reach a trade deal with the US and follow through on commitments. Other products that cannot be sourced in the US including certain aircraft, pharmaceuticals and agricultural goods, are also on a list of imports that may be provided a 0 percent tariff rate.
