UK waste-management provider search disclosure challenge refused by CAT
( September 8, 2025, 14:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A legal challenge to the UK Competition and Markets Authority's disclosure over the search of a waste-management provider for suspected anticompetitive practices has been refused by the Competition Appeal Tribunal. At a hearing earlier this month at the CAT, the CMA said it didn't disclose aspects of its decision-making for the search for reasons of “public interest immunity;” where a court or government body seeks to withhold sensitive information from disclosure if this would harm the public interest.
