US judge dismisses Newsmax's 'shotgun complaint' against Fox

( September 5, 2025, 19:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A US judge dismissed what she called Newsmax's 'shotgun complaint' against Fox Corporation and its television news arm over alleged monopolization of right-leaning TV markets, ruling that because the second, third, fourth and fifth counts in the complaint incorporate all preceding allegations, the complaint engages in impressible shotgun pleading. "The Court has an independent obligation to dismiss such pleadings and require repleader," and the plaintiffs have until Sept. 11 to file an amended complaint resolving the issues with the complaint, US District Judge Aileen Cannon of the Southern District of Florida said in her order of dismissal.See attached document....
