Free EU-Brazil data flows proposed by EU Commission

( September 5, 2025, 10:40 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Businesses, public authorities and research projects between the EU and Brazil could benefit from free data flows, after the European Commission started a process to adopt a data protection adequacy decision with the South American partner. The EU regulator determined that Brazil provides a level of data protection comparable to that of the European Union. Brazilian authorities have also started a process to adopt an equivalent decision, enabling Brazilian data to flow freely to the EU.
