Deal details may be sought upfront for merger-notification waiver, Australian government says

Australia’s Treasury Department released a draft for consultation outlining a proposed form and process for merger-notification waivers, set to take effect on Jan. 1, 2026. According to the draft published today, parties seeking a waiver would need to disclose extensive deal information, including whether related filings have been or will be made in other jurisdictions.
