( August 29, 2025, 20:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: The US Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security closed a Biden-era "loophole" that allowed foreign companies to export semiconductor chips and related manufacturing equipment for the technology to China without a license. The Biden administration in 2023 had expanded the Validated End-User program so foreign companies can export technology to China license-free to make chips. BIS said going forward, foreign companies will have some four months to apply for new licenses once the new rule is published.See statement below:...
