Logistics operator Zásilkovna loses appeal of compensation for Czech Post at EU court

( September 3, 2025, 09:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Logistics company Zásilkovna today lost its legal challenge of support granted to Czech Post for its universal service obligation. In 2022, the European Commission approved compensation of up to 7.5 billion koruna (around $360 million) for the 2018-22 period. In a ruling delivered today, the EU's General Court rejected the company's pleas, saying that Zásilkovna couldn't complain that the watchdog made a mistake in assessing possible cross-subsidies by Czech Post made before 2017 and since at least 2013, namely during the period prior to the period covered by the compensation at stake.The judgment is attached.
