US Commerce removes certain export privileges for Intel, Samsung

( August 29, 2025, 16:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: The US Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security removed subsidiaries of Intel and Samsung based in China from an export control program that allows the companies to more easily export US equipment into China. A final rule from BIS removed g Intel Semiconductor (Dalian) Ltd, ; Samsung China Semiconductor Co. Ltd and SK hynix Semiconductor (China) Ltd from the Validated End-Users program, which allowed the companies to export to approved countries certain eligible products subject to the Export Administration Regulations under a general authorization instead of seeking licenses. The removal of those companies will add 1,000 license applications annually, according to BIS.See attached public notice....
