China vows measures on data, finance to drive services trade

( August 27, 2025, 03:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China pledged to promote and regulate cross-border data transfers and expand its international data-services industry as part of efforts to streamline rules and boost services exports, said Kong Dejun, head of the Commerce Ministry’s services trade department, at a press conference. Kong said a new package of measures will soon be rolled out, covering taxation, finance, regulatory facilitation and global market development. In the first half of the year, China’s trade in services reached 3.9 trillion yuan ($540 billion), up 8 percent from a year earlier.
