Chile’s Constitutional Court rejects executives’ appeal in armored transport collusion case

( August 25, 2025, 20:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: The Constitutional Court rejected appeals from four of the accused executives in an armored transport collusion probe who sought to block their testimonies, claiming that being compelled to testify violated their constitutional right against self-incrimination. The court ruled that such protections do not apply in noncriminal proceedings before the Court for the Defense of Free Competition (TDLC), allowing the case to proceed. In 2021, Chile’s National Economic Prosecutor’s Office (FNE) filed a formal accusation against Brink’s, Loomis and Prosegur — companies in the country’s armored transport sector — along with six of their top executives, for allegedly coordinating to fix service prices between 2017 and 2018.
