Twelve US states back injunction against Apple in antitrust case brought by Epic

( August 22, 2025, 21:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Utah and 11 other states told a US appeals court that iOS app developers should be allowed to inform consumers about alternative purchase opportunities off-app, supporting the affirmance of an injunction against Apple. “By preventing access to customers and data, Apple maintains its exclusive access to a scaled database of customers and data. When companies are allowed to maintain such flywheels by imposing restrictions that limit rivals’ opportunities, they can create impenetrable barriers to entry. Critical assets — consumer data, application programming interfaces, infrastructure, and, in this case, access to customers — remain out of reach for competitors, while consumers become locked into the flywheel,” they said.
