Wind energy industry calls for billions in dedicated EU budget support

( August 21, 2025, 13:44 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The EU should earmark 11.6 billion euros from its next budget to provide technology-specific support for wind energy, industry group WindEurope said today. The bloc must act to strengthen its last homegrown cleantech industry by creating a dedicated fund for wind energy research, innovation, scale-up, and deployment, they said. The package would include 2.1 billion euros for research, 9 billion euros for scale-up and competitiveness, and 0.5 billion euros for attracting private investment. Statement follows....
