The draft guidance published by the Information Commissioner’s Office seeks to clarify how organizations can use personal information for pre-approved public-interest purposes, such as crime prevention, public security or safeguarding, and how public bodies can request information to perform official functions. A separate draft sets out guidance for organizations handling data protection complaints.
