Thailand issues draft guidelines targeting anticompetitive conduct in e-commerce

( August 21, 2025, 09:43 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Thailand’s Trade Competition Commission has published draft guidelines on how the country’s competition law will apply to multi-sided digital platforms for the sale of goods and services. The draft sets out practices that could be deemed unfair trade conduct under the Trade Competition Act, dividing practices into price-related and non-price-related categories. On pricing, the regulator highlights risks from predatory pricing, resale price maintenance, rate parity clauses and discriminatory fees, as well as algorithmic practices that distort fair competition. The guidelines cover e-marketplaces, social marketplaces and other intermediaries facilitating electronic transactions, and expands the framework to include platforms and their related services.The draft from Thailand's Office of Trade, Competition Commission is attached....
