FAW Toyota, Volkswagen among automakers meeting China's criteria for data security

The evaluation measured whether auto-data handlers satisfied requirements for anonymized processing of exterior facial information; seeking data-subject consent when processing in-vehicle data for defined functions; defaulting to non-collection of cockpit data; providing clear user notifications prior to data processing and adhering to service-specific accuracy thresholds.
