Google agrees to pay $30 million to resolve long-running US child-privacy suit

( August 19, 2025, 03:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google has agreed to pay $30 million to settle six-year-old litigation alleging it unlawfully tracked, profiled and targeted children under the age of 13, plaintiffs in the class-action case told a US judge in California. "After almost six years of litigation that included five different judges, multiple challenges to the pleadings, a successful, precedent-setting appeal by plaintiffs to the Ninth Circuit, and discovery, the parties have reached a mediated settlement of the litigation on a nationwide basis under which Defendants Google LLC and YouTube LLC (together, “Google”) will pay $30 million to fully resolve, without any admission of liability or wrongdoing by Defendants, the claims asserted against them in the litigation," the plaintiffs said in moving for preliminary settlement approval.See attached document....
