BT Luxembourg's bid for Smit Lamnalco businesses under review in Papua New Guinea

( August 15, 2025, 04:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: BT Luxembourg II’s proposal to indirectly acquire Smit Lamnalco Projects and directly acquire Smit Lamnalco Towage PNG through BT’s business Boluda will be reviewed by Papua New Guinea’s mergers regulator. In a statement, the Independent Consumer and Competition Commission said the Smit companies were registered in the country, where they provide terminal services, towing, berthing and mooring services. BT’s Boluda is incorporated in Luxembourg and provides marine-terminal services, including harbor towage, although it doesn’t have any operations in Papua New Guinea.
