US FTC unhappy with GTCR, Surmodics' divestiture remedy; court wants new plan by Monday

( August 17, 2025, 01:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Federal Trade Commission told the US Northern District of Illinois that it's unsatisfied with four aspects of GTCR and Surmodics' proposed divestiture intended to remedy claims in the government's antitrust lawsuit. GTCR and Surmodics still want to pursue mediation. The court invited the companies to submit a proposal to resolve the FTC's concerns by close of business Monday. The court instructed the FTC to review the proposal, and said the parties should be prepared to discuss — during a Tuesday pre-hearing conference — the possibility of an expedited mediation prior to the preliminary injunction hearing.Excerpt....
