US DOJ participation in sugar price-fixing suit not appropriate, defendants say

( August 13, 2025, 20:48 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: United Sugar, Domino Foods, Commodity Information and other defendants facing sugar price-fixing claims discouraged a Minnesota federal judge from allowing the US Department of Justice to participate in oral arguments over pending motions to dismiss the case. "Defendants do not believe it is appropriate for a non-party litigant, including the DOJ, to use this litigation, and the Court’s and the parties’ time and resources, in an attempt to advance its separate litigation posture in other cases, pending in other courts," the defendants said in a response to an agency motion filed in the District of Minnesota.See attached file....
